What is there to do in Palm Mar?
Palm Mar is all about relaxing and being a mainly residential town, you have the freedom to move through the streets without be hassled by salesmen and PR´s. Being a residential town does come with some disadvantages though, the majority of excursions and daytime activities do not operate from Palm Mar. However, there are many excursions that begin in the neighbouring towns of Los Cristianos and Las Galletas which will offer complimentary transfers to and from Palm Mar.
Kayaking and snorkelling is the only excursion that runs from Palm Mar. This fantastic trip is around 2 hours long starting from the beach in Palm Mar. Firstly, you head out past the fish farms where you have around an 80% chance of sighting dolphins, then you will have the opportunity to take a dip for snorkelling where you will encounter giant stingrays and sea turtles. There are a few boat trips that offer transfers to and from Palm Mar eliminating the need to pay for taxis. We would recommend the Mustcat Catamaran for families with younger children. The Mustcat Catamaran offer 3 hour and 4.5 hours trips departing from Las Galletas. Both trips will take you on an adventure in search for dolphins and pilot whales, stop for a 30 minute swim and snorkel and enjoy complimentary drinks throughout (beer, white wine, sangria, soft drinks and water). They will serve paella on the 4.5 hour trips and sandwiches on the 3 hours trips. If you would like something a bit more personal with some added luxuries, then we would recommend a day out on either the Skyline Sailing Yacht or the Skyline Cruiser. The Skyline company offer 2 of the best boats available in Tenerife. They depart from Puerto Colon harbour and offer 3 hours excursions. Drinks (beer, white wine, cava, soft drinks and water), sandwiches, dolphin and whale watching and snorkelling is all included on these trips. Private charters are also available.
Here is a list of excursions that will pick up and drop off in Palm Mar: MustCat Catamarans, Royal Dolphin, Skyline Sailing Yacht, Skyline Cruiser, 1/2 Day Teide Trip, Full Island Tour, Santa Cruz Shopping, The 1st Wine Tour, La Gomera (min 4 pax), Teide at night star gazing, Jet Ski Safari, Diving, Paragliding, Showtime Live.
Due to Palm Mar being just outside of the tourist zone it is important to book your excursions in advance to ensure you can get the day and time your want. Becoming a Captain Hooks Member will give you a further discount and you will receive monthly special offers by email along with entry to our monthly competition giving away excursions every month.
